Still laugh when I hear Benny Hill theme song. Mr. Bean is a classic. Watch all of 'Keeping Up Appearances' with Patricia Rutledge. Love it!
I wonder if many of the people who Will say NO to your question actually know that 'All In The Family' was a take off on an English show, and a present hit..The Office. So many of the precepts for "our" comedy are actually British...so whats not to like!

British comedy is awesome. American comedy is extremely formulaic and lacks originality (with the exception of Married With Children). You would have a hard time here in america trying to find anything nearly as good as Red Dwarf or Black Adder.

I do. I grew up watching British comedies and love watching them to this day, especially Fawlty Towers, Monty Python's Flying Circus and Are You Being Served.

I like it (as an American) because I find it sometimes not so "over-the-top" and as sitcom-y as most American shows. Many times it's better produced (albeit, to be fair, I believe the British govt subsidizes some networks and shows), and the humor tends to be dryer and sometimes smarter. I only see BBC America, but I've enjoyed "Keeping up appearances" and "Absolutely Fabulous". On the other hand, there's Benny Hill, with his legendary silly slapstick.
When it comes to movies, again, I think it's dryer and not the "Adam Sandler-y" and lowest common denominator toilet humor that you see in lots of American movies.

i like british comedy because they don't feed you the punch line. a lot of it is done with innuendos. i use to think that benny hill was so funny growing up. i also new that i was getting away with the naughtiness of the subject because my parents never really new what was going on.

I love British comedy, especially anything with John Cleese.

My favorite skit, of course, is the Dead Parrot one.

"What we have on our hands is an expired parrot!"

"It has ceased to be a parrot!"

"This parrot is no more!"
