In order for them to print the word, you have to add a symbol? It's an honest word. Why do they imply it must be used as a swear? Next thing they will not let you use the word Mother!

Mar you are so naive. In the dog breeding world, it is common to refer to a female as a bit*h and the male a stud. How ridiculous you are.

Because the stop-word list which prevents certain words from printing is syntactically or contextually insensitive, meaning it does not recognise the sense in which you are using that particular string of characters (letters). You may also have noticed that you can't refer to a donkey without "manipulating" the 3-letter a-word. The programme simply scans each "word" (a character string bracketed by a space on each end), attempts a match against the stop-word list and if it gets a "hit", the "offending" character string is asterisked out.

Because few people refer to their dogs as anything other than female or male. If you use the other word your intention is probably shock value and nothing else.
