Does anyone know about Pensacola Florida after the hurricanes last year? I have been there many times, but I'm wantin 2 go on vacation there this year and I was wondering how things are since the hurricanes? Are things destroyed? Have things been rebuilt? Is it just a big construction zone? Please answer only if you know. I would be taking many people with me and I would like to know from someone who isn't just wantin me 2 come and spend my money there.

Because I already did and they were hesitant to tell me anything, like there was damage, but they didn't want to tell me, because they might loose money.

Pensacola didn't receive much damage from the hurricanes last year. Santa Rosa County received more damage from Hurricane Dennis then did Escambia County. There are still some places that are recovering from Hurricane Ivan in 2004 and some damage from Dennis last year. However, the beach is open for business and so is town. Come on down the water is FINE :)

There is still some minor damage but nothing that would prevent you from having a good time. The scenic drive between Pensacola Beach and Navarre is still closed but the main Highway 98 is unaffected. If you drive around Pensacola Beach you'll notice some homes and condos still being repaired but the hotels and restaurants are up and running and all the beaches are open. Around the city itself you won't notice anything out of the ordinary. Come on down and have a good time.

I was just there a month ago. I didn't see any damage. My wife's family lives in Fort Walton Beach, so we were there for a visit. Fort Walton Beach and Destin are also in good shape, in spite of the hurricanes.

It just happens that I am a travel agent. I am in Ohio. I would be happy to help your group plan a vacation in Pensacola. Send me an e-mail and I will send you my toll-free number, if you like.

I was in Pensacola this past February. It was my first visit to that part of Fl. and it did not look like there was much hurricane damage. If there was they sure hid it from tourists.

Why don't you look up the number for their local chamber of commerce and ask them.
