It seems to me that Americans are generally unconcerned or oblivious to what goes on outside our borders. Most people have no stomach for world news. That is why you can watch a major network's world news program and only see American foriegn affairs; no news that doesn't concern the U.S.. Same with world history in public schools- it startsgoing in depth around the seventeenth century, if it covers before then at all. Now watch BBC world news and you'll see some world news. They report bus crashes from all corners of the globe.
Amercans seem apathetic to foreign policy. The people there were just major asses. I think more people would have helped than wouldn't have.
