Depends on how they deal with their economy after the elections. They also have some internal sovereingty issues to take care of. If the elected official can cause an upswing it will help in our relations. The biggest issue I see right now is over illegal imigration, if Mexico's economy changes to where it is better for Mexicans to stay and work in Mexico, that would be a good thing.

It will be interesting, I have heard there is institutional issues that will have to be addressed and worked out. I doubt there will be any fall out between us and Mexico no matter who wins. We are neighbors after all and in the end we have to get along.

Lucky is right. Bush decided to form a North American Union with Mexico and Canada. By 2010 we won't be America we will be part of the N.A.U. The N.A.U will override the supreme court, and it's laws will override common American laws. There will be no borders and everyone in North America will be free to roam anywhere into our country which should really tick off the conservatives. The Best information about the N.A.U is on infowars.com or prisonplanet.com. Don't be surprised if this is the first step towards a one world government.
You gotta love Bush

If the economy improves in Mexico then more good jobs will be created there, and social services such as education can be expanded to improve the lives of Mexican citizens, then there could be less illegal immigration into the US, and more US-Mexico trade. The direction of the economy could depend on the Mexican election.

Also, I'm hopeful that if Obrador gets elected then he can become a leader of Latin American liberalism and then Hugo Chavez will be marginalized.
