Actually the teeny, tiny little seeds on the OUTSIDE of a strawberry ARE the seeds that you dry out and plant!! I planted the seeds for the first time this year (started seedlings back in March - planted them outside in May) and am picking berries daily :o)
Good luck!!
Truth be told - if I could do it again... I'd jsut pay the $2 for a 'plant' at the local nursery :o)

Plant them in shade this time of year.
Water almost daily.
Use a strawberry jar for good results.
Buy plants, not seeds.
Good luck.
