I don't know, but I do it all the time. Sometimes I feel like having the conversations I want to have, not the ones in the outside world. Also, when I'm doing something practical it helps me to focus.

Sure, why not. Just don't overdo it. Most people also talk to inanimate objects, which is even worse. If you think you don't, think back to the last time your car ran out of gas and you told it to keep going or your sink overflowed and you yelled at it to stop. Or a character in a scary movie walked alone into a dark alley, and you said "you idiot, get out of there!"
By the way, if you think "I don't have a little voice in my head. I don't talk to myself," then that was the little voice in your head that said that, and you just did.

Better out than in! I talk to myself all the time. It's a good way of processing what's going on in my mind. Sometimes I talk to myself in public, like in the grocery store - um - and then it's a little awkward when someone walks up on me.

Sure, I talk to myself all the time, don't you?
When we do this we verbalize things to help us in problem solving. It is no different than talking to another person to get affirmation. It helps us organize our thoughts, we sift information and ideas in a verbal grid like we would prepare to present them in their situation.

Yes! I read in Readers' Digest years ago that it was not only okay to talk to yourself, but it is accepted to answer back. BUT, if you are talking and you say "Huh" What did you say?" Then you may have a problem!

I talk to myself all the time. It started when I became a title examiner. We all talk to ourselves... I don't do that anymore, but I continuously talk to myself. I don't care who's listening..

I don't know about that. It's good that you're thinking constantly, but you can become absorbed in your daydreams. It is not socially acceptable. Why, I don't know.
