I found this motorola model 601(t) in my backyard before mowing. Is it a prepaid model? I tried to be neighborly, to see if someone lost it next door, but knocked on their door and they wouldn't answer (thugs). Is it a prepaid type? Can I buy minutes and activate it with a new number? It's a lot nicer than my prepaid nextel that i'm using. Please educate me.

Any phone can be used as a prepaid, you just have to bring it to the service provider and have it activated. Of course, I agree with the stolen thing...if it was reported as stolen, you can get in a lot of trouble. I wouldn't risk it.

I wouldnt use it because most phone have a tracker and if the owner reports it as stolen you will be charged with posession of stolen property. Most likley the owner reported it as stolen so that he could get a new one from insurance.
