i have a tattoo i actually have two but one is covering up the other. (my first tattoo was not good) i love it its in the middle of my back and it a water lily in honor of my daughter (Lili) i know its something that when i look at it 20 yrs from know will mean just as much to me. it is also very discreet and since its more middle than lower back is easily covered and i can keep it private.

what many teens don't realize is that tattoos are something that are forever and depending on what they are and were they are placed 10 yrs from know at your kids PTA meeting or a job interview or in your wedding dress that those cherries that you got on your **** may not seem nearly as grown up as you thought

now i know that in a job interview that they cannot hold a tattoo against you but if there are two qualified applicants and one is done up like a released convect and one not peoples personal feelings can come into play. i don't think that most 16yr old are mature enough to deal with life long consequences that a tattoo has and should be made to wait til they were 18 like i did. my mom has a tattoo but still made me wait for the reason listed above she didn't to be responsible for letting me make a decision that i could later regret. i will do they same for my own daughter
.

The only people who wont look at you the same are old people. "Damn kids." If you want to get a tattoo, most if not all states require you to be 18 or have a signed parent consent form. If you go to an artist who doesn't require either of these DO NOT GET A TATTOO FROM HIM OR HER! Most likely, if you get a tattoo from one of these artists, they will not be licensed and you could contract a blood born pathogen. This means Hepatitis C, AIDS, HIV, etc. Decide on the design you want and wait two years until you are 18. If you still want the same tattoo when you are 18 then go for it. Tattoos are beautiful and with proper care can look great for a long time without touch ups, but you don't want to have a tattoo that you wont love for a long time. It is permanent, so seriously consider what you are doing. I support your decision fully just make sure you are being safe and careful about it. AIDS doesn't go away and neither does a tattoo.

SO-SO. I suggest you wait until you are 18, that way, if you still want a tattoo, you'll know that it is what you truly want. I wanted a tattoo every since I was 16, and when I turned 18, I still wanted it. What I am trying to tell you in so many words are, wait, because it may just be a phase. You may not feel the same way in six months, or two or three years. You don't want to get something that is PERMANENT and you can't have it removed and you may regret it. Be patient, I suggest you wait until you are of legal age.

BAD.

YOu will grow and it will stretch. Also, the things you l ike at 15 don't tend to be the same or even close say at 18 or 20. These are things you need to think about for years before getting them. You also need a good artist and any reputable artist is either legally bound to not tattoo anyone under 18 or will refuse out of moral obligations.

I'm going to have to disagree on this one. Wait until she's like 25 or something. Getting a tattoo damages your skin big time, and when she is pregnant and stuff, this problem can become hereditary, and the kids can end up with bad skin. I never really liked tattoo because my friends got it. They had to remove it [parents, parents] and she said it f***ing hurts and she still feels the pain. It's just really bad, and I would wait until you're done starting a family. For now, stick with temporary ones that looks real. There's nothing bad, and you can always change.

Very bad idea. You have no idea at 15 or 16 what you're going to want at 25. Atleast wait until 18.

It's not a very good idea to get a tattoo at that young of an age. Tattos are pretty much a permanent decision that will literally leave it's mark on you as long as you live. My dad got a tattoo while he was in service of a woman's name across his arm and when he married my mom, let's just say, she wasn't too fond that he had a tattoo of another woman's name permanently plastered across his arm for all to see.

Its a good idea just remember to take your time make sure its something that important and meaningful to YOU and you only. I wanted a tattoo since i was ten and what i wanted never changed and i got it as soon as i was 18. iv never regretted it and it means even more now than it did when i was ten. one more thing, dont get a pice of flash of the wall of the tattoo parlor at least not for your first tattoo, get a nice custom pice that you have thought alot about. and yes it hurts

BAD IDEA!!!!! At 15 or 16 still a child and what they like now might not be what they want in 20 years. Ever heard of the lady who got a humming bird tatooed on her breast????? later in life that cute little humming bird turned into Big Bird!!!!!!! So again it is a bad idea

It is never a good idea to do something permanent like this at such a young age. At 15 we think we know what's best because of what our friends are doing. We change so much though and fads go away. You don't want a permanent reminder of a fad that is no longer popular.
