They are all free. The catch is you have to apply to them and write grant proposals for them.

The only grant I've ever gotten was a Federal Pell Grant, an education grant given to pay for college tuition and books. I didn't get much, something like $5000 once. But not a penny of it was owed back!

Yes, all grants are free to apply. The issue is that you're probably trying to go through the scammers who charge to get you information or fill out the applications for you. Just go to your local library and research them that way. Call individual government agencies with questions instead of paying people who are only doing it because of greed.

Now seriously, if you're planning on running your own business, you should be a little more resourceful. The government might get you some start-up funds, but they won't do the work for you!!

there are grants out there but they are very hard to come by. You have to dot your I's and cross your t's, any little thing will cause it to be rejected.

some do for first time homebuyers. They have programs to help people afford closing costs and such. some banks offer it too. keybank offered us 5,000.00 for us to have, grant money, for the downpayment.
