If someone parks behind my vehicle in my driveway what can I do? my car was in my driveway and a company truck that was servicing the water main or something at the house next to mine parked at the end of my driveway COMPLETELY blocking in one of my vehicles and barely leaving me room to take out the other one. I went out to start my truck and they saw me so I figured they would move seeing they were blocking me in, when I went to leave almost 5 minute later noone was outside and I came within 6 inches of hitting them. I returned a few minutes later and someone was outside again and the truck was still in the same spot BLOCKING most of my driveway. Did i have the right to hit them for refusing to move and if nobody is at the vehicle can i legally have it towed???

NOONE WAS AROUND WHEN I HAD TO LEAVE- who am i gonna ask to move the vehicle if ther is noone around? I was in a hurry thats the only reason i didnt, I was just curious because it has happened before. it was a local company vehicle but not a city vehicle. And my neighbors are not to blame

If you hit the parked car then it is your fault and your insurance will have to pay for the repairs to that vehicle. So no you do not need to hit them. However, I would call your local police and have them present when you ask those individuals not to block your driveway. From that point I believe you can have their vehicle towed legally. Hope this helps.

Well you never have the right to hit someone. If it was a city vehicle I doubt you could have had it towed. If it was a private business you could have called the police. They could inform you of your legal rights and possibly have had it towed for you. It is always best to do things in a legal manner, even if it involves calling the police. It will keep you out of alot of trouble and possible lawsuits. You cant just take the law into your own hands and hit someones vehicle.

Most towing companies wont tow a car for a individual.
Sometimes your local police might help if they have civil code enforcement officers and they park there long enough.
Maybe telling them there blocking you might help also....

Depends on your local vehicle code, but usually yes, you can have it towed.

GEEZ, just go talk to these people and work it out. What we have here is a failure to communicate!
