Okay, okay, let's remember for a moment that there are plenty of stupid northern people, and plently of intelligent southern people. Hey, here's a thought, maybe people are just people, and they aren't dictated by where in the country they live.
That said, had the Confederacy won the civil war, there would still be slavery and that in and of itself is a terrible thing. However, there was more to the Civil War than slavery. It was also a fight between the farmers and the industrialists, and the industrialists won. Perhaps if the South had won, food growing would not have become an industry. Animals would be raised on proper farms rather than factories, and perhaps we would eat more organically grown food.
It's always best to look at every issue from both sides.

Yeah - The slavery issue would have been solved, due to technology - because it has even put white men/women out of work. The plantation owners would have be forced to buy into the tech just to survive, they would have freed their slaves. The South would still be alive with the Southern Gentlemen, The Southern Belle. People would still be respectful toward each other and yes even the black man would have been excepted in to days south, because it is the war that left the bad taste in every ones mouth, and the hatred grew from the frustration of the war. Had the industrial and techno revolution been able to thrive without the advent of war to disturb the flow. Yeah, I think the South and the North both would be different in a lot of ways. May-be had that bit of U.S. History not happened we wouldn't be worried about civil rights bills, etc....

Before y'all start call'n names and call'n us stupid inbred hillbillies, We might have lost the fight in the last one, but we ain't forgot. We might seem slow and backward to y'all - but stupid is as stupid does! Look around on your map - Fort Hood, Texas, Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Fort Benning, Georgia, Fort Stewart, Georgia, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Fort Jackson, South Carolina - The South Just Might Rise Again - Oh, did I forget to mention the Commander In Chief is a Texan! Makes me sleep well at night here in the south.

As for your question "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn".

Lets just thank God the South lost. Look at some of the answers for this question and you can see how a lot of the Southerners really are (Not all of them). More than a century after the Civil War, many of their attitudes have not changed.

Yes slavery would still be around and it would include all minorities, not just the African Americans.

I think overtime slavery would be abolished. New technology and morality issues would come up in the current day world.

And don't insult your fellow americans in the south. They helped build this country from the colonial days to the revolution to the Iraqi war.

And don't forget us in the north were very racist not too long ago. The South supported slavery for economic needs- it wasn't like they actually hated black people.

Slavery altogether wasn't a racist act. If Africa was filled with white people who had corrupted leaders and were willing to sell their people into slavery then the europeans would still buy the slaves

Also on a side note, the removal of natives from North america wasn't racist if whtie people were there they would've taken them out.

I am from the south. I don't sleep with my relatives, No one in my family ever owned slaves, and I have more than a 12 grade education, and I like black people, and all cultures. North, South, East, West. Not all people that were born in the south are stupid, and you shouldn't talk like that about anyone. You must be a little spoiled rich kid that always had everything given to him. Only rich people had slaves back then, which was the minority. And that wasn't right.

In the 19th century, slavery was eliminated throughout the entire western world. Russia freed their serfs; Brazil freed their slaves; Britain freed their slaves and used the might of the British Navy to eliminate the slave trade. Only in the United States was emancipation coupled with an huge Civil War.

If the Confederacy had left the U.S. in peace, they would have soon freed their slaves anyway, just like the rest of the world.

Well let's see, considering that the American south can stand alone as one of the worlds top ten economies, and if it had won the war would probably be the dominant military power in North America, I'd say you northerners would be kissing our a**.And FYI, hillbillies live the north also,

I'm southern and you are stereotyping. We do not sleep with our cousins and the majority of us are not hillbillies, just southern. I hate to say it, but you are right about one thing...there probably would still be slavery if the south had won:(

for starters...No it wouldn't have been great if the south won.
SECOND...what the heck gives you the right to criticize ppl that live in the south NOW....you obviously have never been down in the south long enough to get to know anyone. you are probably one of those "high and mighty" Yankee idiots that think your somehow superior because of your "place of birth"...that kind of reasoning sounds about as "hillbilly, and backwoods" as YOU claim the south is.
grow up! grab a history book or two, and learn how many very important, intelligent men and woman came out of the south. get off your pedestal...its not as high as you'd like to think it is.

I've just had the displeasure of reading some of your other questions, and I find it quite disturbing how racist you are. Even against your own race! And I quote; "Black women are 'stuck up', and white women rule!"....?? You are ignorant and a waste of good air. You call people from the South stupid, yet you can't figure out the English language! Stay in your North, because we sure as hell don't want your dumb, punk @ss here!
