Does anybody know what skunks are afraid of or what would repel them? My aunt has a very big backyard and a few nights ago there was 6 in the yard. Anybody know how she might be able to get rid of them that wont require alot of work or thought? Or killing them?

Yes.
They come out at sunset.
You can find them on a night with a full moon roaming around.
They eat vegies, a little meat and will eat dog bisquits.
I will kill one that hides under my ranches porch tomorrow.
I use a 12 gauge shotgun and wait till sunset.
I let it get away from the house because, if you miss, it will turn around and spray.
Keep the dog in the house.
Mothballs help keep squirrels away but I think my skunk eats them. LOL.
I will spray foaming bug spray under the porch to stink it up enough to keep others away.
At night, these things just roam around slowly, looking for grubs. They are easy to spot and do not run fast.
They will seek cover in bushes.

Skunks are uniquely equipped so that they need not be afraid of much of anything. They are omnivorous, which means they will eat pretty much anything. If you leave them alone, they are pretty harmless. With that many, it was probably a mother and her babies looking for food. Just leave them alone and they'll leave you alone.

Cover all trash. If she has no lids on the garbage cans that is what may be attrating them.
Skunks are attracted to food. Sprinkle some ammonia in the trash. They'll go away.

Make sure she is not leaving anything on the ground for "other" animals because they will come around too to eat. I do not know besides that.

call the department of natural resources and hire someone - ask him/ her not ot kill them- there will be a fee- or else you can live trap and release them yourself, be very careful and they won't spray
