Acetone works but 100% acetone isn't always available depending on what state you're in. You may have to settle for the artificial nail remover, you can find it at walmart. It takes a few hours to do it right. If you pull them off without soaking all the glue off, it'll hurt like hell.
Also before soaking I'd trim them down to speed it up. Be sure to have some clear polish ready that's designed to help damaged nails, because your nails will be missing their first few layers and this will help them grow back.

i took some off by myself one time. it was a huge pain. make sure you have some free time. I used a cuticle cutter and just picked and chipped away at them, after cutting them down with normal fingernail cutters. I also used pure acetone (you can buy it at sally's beauty supply store) and soaked the nails in it. but it tooks a couple of months before my nails were really normal again....good luck!

You can soak your nails in nail polish remover. It takes a while but it works. Or you can just pick them off, its not the safest way but its what I do and it works for the most part.
