I need to know a list of reasons why people watch porn??? Why is it a good thing??? OR Why is it a bad thing??????

I watch and enjoy porn because it saves a lot of people having to bother with me, who would rather I went elsewhere. Porn is fairly direct. It serves a purpose that is also fairly direct. This may be a bit different if a husband, let's say, is watching instead of being with his wife. It would be understandable if the wife got upset. But a lot of guys love porn because all the posturing and foolishness is totally missing and a guaranteed result is in the offing. Then it comes to what porn is all about, guys just don't like being teased or strung out indefinitely. They, most of them, are fairly direct when it comes to sex. They enjoy it, but they don't like meandering all over the place in their feelings, too. Sex is sex. Guys find that porn serves the purpose for which they are watching it. It is one way to solve a repeating situation. It's a little bit like why would you wait over in that field when the bus stops here? Porn. Yes, I know a lot of people are disgusted with it. They usually are posturing in other ways, too, which does not make them the most attractive candidates as alternatives. In my opinion, as long as there is porn, you will at least have a lot of guys who actually prefer the directness and surety of it over the chasing after clouds on a windy day. If the majority of the human race could drop its pants without so much bravado, you would probably find interest in porn diminishing a bit. One sure thing: porn is going to be with us awhile longer. It is almost like an aspirin when you have a headache. You pop it and twenty minutes later you can see straight again, no pun intended. These are my thoughts on the mercy mission represented by porn. It's called vicarious pleasure. It's the same as watching a sporting event or a violent movie. You feel the thrill of the activity without any of the risks entailed in actually being there. Some people don't have as much capacity to vicariously participate in things. Could be a lower capacity of imagination, I'm not sure.
Why is it a good thing: It is a way to release sexual tension without contracting diseases, adverse pregnancies, or hurting people.
Why its a bad thing: It's addictive and it may prevent some people from engaging in social activities. It also tends to be demeaning to women, but not always. Depends on what type of porn.

it depends what their age is... younger people watch because their curious mostly and want to see whats going on. they're parents probably didn't tell them anything about sex so they have to find out someway. older people watch porn usually because their horny and lets face it, their mates probably used to look like the girls and guys who are doing it in the pictures. and who doesn't want some of those hotties? some use it as a guide to spice up their sex lives. others are simply bored with the same old sex, same old position, same old dull orgasm. others use it to try and coax their mate into becoming aroused and maybe trying something they may not have done before. porn is a good thing if it helps makes people happy in the end. but if it hurts someone, then its not worth it. why hurt the one you love. don't condemn it til you've tried it though. you may like it. look at all the different varieties of porn before you decide you hate ALL of it, ok? don't pass judgement on something if you haven't seen all the evidence first. hope you see it my way.

It's fun, it's primal, and it is natural. It is neither good nor bad. It is interesting. Women crab about it because they're jealous. I've noticed something about women and porn. Sometimes they'll go on and on about how wrong it is, etc. But if they're at a party and somebody pulls up porn on the internet or pulls out a magazine they'll go over to investigate. IT IS INTERESTING!!! For every NORMAL person it is interesting. Hugh Hefner is probably the most psychologically balanced person on the planet, he has a pretty healthy attitude toward sex. "It's natural. It's fun." he says.

I personally,thing that porn flicks are down grading.I mean there are different strokes for different folks and that's fine,that is their choice.This is just my point of view! People think they need them to improve their relationships,people think they need the arousal of them,but i don't think that at all.First off if you are in a good relationship you don't need to improve anything,and two people in love should know how to arousal one another to begin with.I wouldn't want to portrait myself as a whore and those woman in those movies are.I think they are sickening myself,i also know of a few guys that really feel like i do as well,they say it's like having a raincoat without the rain,it doesn't do anything nor serves the purpose for them.Besides,if you are involved,why would anyone want to look at such trash,when beside them is the most important thing in their lives that is ready to please them anyway?My comment isn't to offend anyone either,like i said this is only my opinion,to each their own.Also,if i want to experience something new i want it to be creative from me and my man only,that's the fun and beauty of it.I guess you have to come to your own conclusion on how you truly feel about porn yourself,because everyone has different thoughts and feelings.Good Luck to you!

I don't know why most people do. I only know that it is a good way to get turned on, is a healthy outlet for your sex drive (better than going out and hooking up with some random person) and it can also add some spice to your sex life if you have been with someone for a while and want to try something different. However, some people can get addicted to it.

Because its titilating, easy way to get off, on your own or with your parter, to spice up a relationship, lots of reasons. I think its a good thing, censorship never went down well with me, if you dont like it dont watch it - as adults we have the choice to watch porn if we want (as long as its legal and everything of course)

KJ, I can give a list of reasons but most importantly is you not to let it bother you what others are doing.
Unfortunately sex drives many peoples lives in almost everything they do.
In our culture, hiding ones body is the norm, naturally it creates curiousity and temptations.
