Today after Brazil lost to France I couldn't help but wonder why Ronaldinho and even Robinho and Ronaldo, don't do the same moves we're so used to seeing in Club matches. The "fancy" dribbling seems to work more often than not, but when I see Ronaldinho in a one-on-one situation I have yet to see him do a move. This is stupid for asking, so please no sarcastic remarks.

i can see this is an opinion based question.. i guess the pressure of the world cup and the defenders being better are good reasons not to, but he IS the best ball handler in the world

the defensive pressure from France

the 6 defensive players have been champions in their club this year (Thuram and Viera with Juventus, Sagnol with Bayern Munich, Gallas and Makelele with Chelsea, Abidal with Lyon)

this means something no ?
knowing that the best defense is often the champion team

and the spanish championship is less defensive-oriented than other european championships (Ronaldinho, Robinho and Ronaldo play there)

No, he isn't the best ball handler in the world. He is just fancy moves, no substance. He thinks that he looks good, but people who really know football can see through it.

He was just not himself the whole world cup. It has nothing to do with the level of competition. Real Madrid can beat any team they played against before France. If he can do them against Real Madrid, he is certainly capable of showing those flashes against Japan or Croatia, etc.

I think u have a great point. In my own opinion I think its cos they are at the World Cup (the greatest sports stage in the world). They are probably scared to make any stupid mistakes.

I think he is tired from playing for his club team at Barcalona.
But yes, his games during the world cup have not been the best that we have seen of him.

Club games and the world cup are way different
club players may not be that good
but these players are the best in their country
so its hard to juke them

people know what hes capable of so they double team him. even when hes one on one the pressure is still on him to live up to expectations. maybe he just is stressed from the pressure.
