Let me begin by saying I am not racist. Why do African Americans and other races say degrading things about white people on national television and get away with it? They are not called racists nor are they on CNN the next day being called out. If a white person made fun of a African American person on the MTV movie awards they would be torn to shreds by the public. I do not that in todays society that something like that should be acceptable.

Because that's how it is. They are able to say ANYTHING THEY WANT TO about white people, but the second a white person says ANYTHING against another race, we're racist so and so's. F*cked up, but that's how it is.

And for the morons who write about how "we" have repressed them... that is the biggest BULLSH*T of all. I never did anything to them or anyone else, so why should I have to pay for it?

Honestly, this question is a bit... too general. What I mean is other races have been surpressed and discriminated against in the USA for generations and there is a certain level of truth to their accusations. As a result many Whites feel bad for for the past actions of their relatives and "people" and the other races feel a sense of unity in this issue. The unfortunate thing is when the race card is played and the other is not guilty. This goes both ways. Many whites look at blacks as poor and uneducated or hold their purse/items closer to them when they see the other race walking by... even with no reason to do so besides what they have been taught through the years. Many blacks, etc. believe all Whites are racist and assume that they are while trying to defend their own thoughts and beliefs. Thus the "race" card is pulled instead of actually thinking.. perhaps this other person is right.

Its a problem for both sides... its a shame since both races (all races) are basically good and just people at their core. Racism of the past and racism of today has bread the dis-trust and issues we see today. It's a shame.

Amen buddy. I agree 100%. I'm not racist either. But if we had White Entertainment Television, or Miss White USA, or the National Association for the Advancement of White People then we would be considered racist. But it's ok for black people to have things that exclude the white people. I just don't get it.

Maybe we have the right after so many years of slavery abuse in every way.....just like the Jews....,after the holocaust don't u dare say a thing about the Jews they manly rule the world...At least the white race wasn't in any way interrupted,,,Look at the majority of African American girls that r light skinned with light brown hair we weren't made to look that way,,but if it wasn't for those "great" slave master that raped my ancestors maybe we would look the way God intended.,,,,,,White Americans are damaging this world and the rest of us are indeed following.

I agree with you. This world is going to far. You can't even say I want a black coffee or or a black colour with out getting into trouble. We have to say Bar Bar rainbow sheep now instead of Bar Bar Black sheep. I am not a racist I don't care if people are dark, white or purple it how they treat you that counts

Neither am I racist. Study psychology/sociology. Black people have been brought up with the idea that white people saying negative stuff about the black people is racist, so they pay closer attention to it. White people, however, haven't been brought up with the idea that black people saying negative stuff to white people is racist. A large portion of it has to do with the environment we grow up in.

You're not a racist??? Then why did you post such a question? Clearly, you seem perplexed as to why the " double standard ". The reason is quite simple, and you stated it yourself; " You're not racist ". Perhaps it's time you, (and others who can't understand this double standard), became reacquainted with your common sense and became one.

The world's not fair and humans are stuuuuupid no matter what they look like!
Stop thinking of yourselves as WHITE, BLACK, RED, YELLOW, or what ever color. Ins ted, start thinking of yourselves as........................
..HUMAN!!

That being the case, we can only look to the past to see what was done wrong. Fix what we can, apologize for what we can't fix, FORGIVE one another, and try NOT DO IT AGAIN!
Then we look to the past to see what was done right and USE THAT TO BUILD MORE GOOD for us all.
You can't change the past. You can try to change the present by fixing you first.

We are all ONE COLOR! Just different shades of the same pigmentation!

You guys are funny...every post either starts off with one of two comments ----> "I'm not a racist" or "You're a racist"...
Perhaps that is a term that is thrown around a little too loosely today?

It is a clear double standard that will be around for a while no doubt. It is opne of the reasons that there is still racism today.
