5 times itself once is 25, or 5 to the power of 2.
5 times itself twice is 125 is 5 to the power of 3 and so on.

Yes, also known as 5 to the exponent 500. One way of writing it is to have the 5 with a smaller 500 in it's upper right corner of the 5.

Correction Jim caught me in a moment of inattention. If it's multiplied by itself 500 times it's exponent 501.
