Another Lib that cant state facts without name calling. If you ideas had any merit you wouldn't have to stoop to the tactics of a grade school child.
While your objectives are admirable, they are also extremely naive. You obviously have no concept of how our economy or government works.
If we start now, maybe we can achieve your ideals in 50 years, if all goes right, but you and I know that's not going to happen.
The biggest current threat to the USA and global civilization is the Islamic Fanatics. Whether you want to admit it or not, they could end civilization as we know in the next five years. Go ahead and bury your head in the sand and hug a tree, but that is the truth.

I am not a red or a blue. But sadly enough I think the Republican horde will win again....and again....and again. If the politics were a prize fight, the Republicans would be trying to slip in a low blow, rabbit punch, thumb to the eye, head butt, and an arm grab when ever the ref was not looking or even sometime right when the ref IS looking. they are sleazy and dirty when it comes to a fight. Anything to win. Forget rules. forget civility. Just fight like an animal and come out the winner. Do you see them closing Gitmo? The World hates it. The Supreme Court nixed the illegal tribunals. But what do the Commander and Chump do? Try an end around on the Supreme Court, the Constitution, and the Geneva Convention. All the while singing about the "rule of law" to bring those "evil doers" to justice(but only when it favors the party line. the Dems on the other hand. If they were in a fight and opened up a wicked cut over the eye of the elephant. Instead of bombing that cut with every punch they knew to land on it. Pummeling that wound with punches in bunches. The would start feeling remorseful and start working the body instead of trying to end the fight before the score card. And as long as they do not have the stones to go for the blood and be as dirty as the rep. They ain't gonna win anything, and lose the Constitution.

Tell me, what are all those "great benefits" going to look like when the economy becomes too weak to support them? I don't want to live in a welfare state. It's not working in Europe, and it won't work here. All that money has to come from somewhere, and it usually comes from my people, the middle class.
Get some other poor, stupid bastard to pay for it, because I won't.
Oh yeah, I meant to ask. Just how is the government going to create high-paying jobs? I really do try not to condescend liberals/Democrats too much, but his is ridiculus. The government doesn't create jobs, a strong economy does. Why do liberals always feel like they can just "will" about a half million jobs into existence? It doesn't work that way. Not in this country.

I think they will, as the public is overwhelmingly so fed up with the Republican leadership. Now before I get slammed for that statement, readers, acknowledge that even the traditionally Republican newspapers have dropped their approvals and are giving positive editorials about Democrats.
So yes, there will be a strongly Democratic backlash this next time. And if they do even remotely well, the Democrats will again carry the elections the next time after that.

I hope they win...If the Republicans stay in power much longer, the USA will become a Christian version of Israel. Just look at what is going on at the Patrick Henry College in Virginia. They are grooming Evangelical Conservatives for future high level positions in the US Government. If you believe that Church and State should be separate, you will vote Democrat.

Yes. the reason democrats raise taxes is because when republicans are in office they cut funding to the states for many social programs. They have to find a way to make up for republican excesses.
What gets me is they are so ready to give billions when there is a disaster somewhere else in the world, but in the USA it seems to be OK for people to be homeless and hungry (we blame the victim)

No they will not. Maybe in some areas. However, the Dem Party cannot stand together on a single issue. They are spread too thin and do not have a valid plan. They need a party leader desperately.

Taxes would have to go up A LOT to get anywhere near what I'm paying for health insurance right now...
I would gladly take government health care and get rid of these insane insurance bills... I've never even been in the hospital, but if you drop it and need it, your basically in financial ruin...

Sounds like the communist way. How is their standard of living? At some point in life we all want to move out of Mommy and Daddy's house and pay our own way. I do not want to be dependent on any government for any more than I have to already.
