How about a Mature single father of two married daughters. I hope I qualify and can help with an answer. First, it may be a factor of your age, regardless of being sexual active. If you have not entered your menses stage for a period of more than a year or so, the first day was all that was necessary for your body to dispose of the no longer needed endo-metrionic cells on the walls of your uterus. However, your hormonal maturation is still signaling the body to flow through the uterus as during a 3-5 day period.
If you cycled for a number of years, it could be a function of a change in some types of medications, stress, a change in life style etc. But regardless, it still sounds all Good. Your first day discharged any cells or inter-uteral lining and that prevents embryonic cysts which can inflame and be a big problem. Also, you are not experiencing any unusual blood flow that could signal immediate problems of weakness or, other symptoms of excessive blood loss, or the need for a curetment or even a DNC to stop the flow. So the fluid is just that, fluid the body makes and uses to aid or assist menstruation.
If you have recently started or changed an oral or subcutaneous form of birth control (or surface methods as the patch), this is most likely a result of you body adjusting to the new medication and the possible shortening of you monthly cycle resultant of the new medication.
I had one daughter, who at the age of 12 was placed on B.C. because she was flowing uncontrollably every month for more than 7 days. Birth Control medication is a first choice. or treatment of choice for those having prolonged bleeding during their monthly cycle. That is qualified by OB-Gyn's as, when they are not concerned, or are unsure of a more serious condition (It is used as a Rule Out method of diagnosis, if it quickly stops the flow and not further problems exist, they can Rule out other more serious conditions, subject to results of routine P.A.P. tests. I had another daughter that did not start her menstural cycle until she was 14 and almost starting High school. Then, she only started a spotty brown discharge for close to the first year. The OB-Gyn constantly said "Dad stop your worring, neither you or I can start or stop what happens naturally".
Bottom-line, you have for a while, or should in the future, accept the fact you are going to cycle each month and have a 3-5 day menstrual period with bloody discharge requiring the use of your choice of tampons or pads. So the fluid during the last 2 days should not be a problem. If you stop discharging the fluid as you would regularly stop your menstrual (or bloody discharge) at the same time as you normally, or should normally expect, then wait at least a month. If it persists get to an O.B.-Gyn., not a Family practitioner. What you need to be on guard for is that you are not actually discharging all the loose, or already fallen lining of the walls of your uterus during the Heavy but Limit portion of your menstrual cycle. I understood that a lack of effective discharge could result in an ovarian Cyst that could inflame, abscess, and cause a great amount of pain. I found out the truth of this concern when at 20 years old my daughter was taken to the emergency room and diagnosed with an appendicitis. She was in great pain and running fever over 103. After the surgery the surgeon informed me that once they "went in and look around", there was no inflammation of her appendix, but she had a very large inflamed Ovarian Cysts. "Damn I already knew about that", so,
as the song says, "What was I thinking".
I may not be a mature female, but as goes menstrual problems; Well I been there and lived it as a single father of two daughters.
I hope this helps, but first relax it does not sound terminal, and it does not have the indications that signal surgery and ovarian types of disease, to include Cancer.
BUT IF YOUR CONCERN RELATES TO THE FACT YOU MAY POSSIBLY BE PREGNANT, Well Hech Yeh, "THERE'S YOUR SIGN" (cite: Blue Collar Comedy Tour).

miscarige. If not sexually active keep in mind that a weight gain or weight loss can cause irregular periods. Give it a couple of days if not go to the docter maybe your hormones are off and you might need to start taking birth controll pills to balance your hormones.-

You might just need to be cleaned out. My mother has to have it done once a year, you might need to do the same. Just call and get in to see your OBGYN, and see what she wants you to do.
Good luck!
