They are never going to like the same music as you. Ever hear of a thing called a Generation Gap?

Im gonna tell ya straight up. I know only a couple of ways you can do this. i pull this trick on my parents all the time cuz if they knew what i was listenin to, id be stuck in the same situation ur in. (1) whenever with your parents and you put in a cd you like, DONT LISTEN TO THE MOST HARD ROCK SONG ON THERE!! at least not right then. Put one of the songs that you think they would find alright. (Ex. you know the music ur parents like. Greenday: If they are more of a laid back softy kinda people, put on Time of ur life or when i come around or when sept ends. MCR: put on helena) ya get my drift? Try to ease em slowly into it and they just might accept it. Tried to help! No matter what chick..Rock on!!!!!!!!

Lots of teens have this problem. I wouldn't try to change them. Just listen to it on a cd player or an ipod/ mp3 so that you can hear it, but they don't have to. Although, if they think it is inappropriate, then you shouldn't listen to it. Try asking them why they don't like it. Talk to them and maybe you could work something out.

BTW- Jonas Brothers rock!!!

jonas brothers have very good music with no innapropirate lyrics and they are christian so my parent dont have a problem with it although they did do some cover songs like year 3000 and what i go to school for they changed the words and made them appropriate for all ages

I don't think you can "make" them like your music, at least not right away. I would either find "softer", more acceptable rock music and have them get used to it slowly, or make a compromise yourself by finding other kinds of music to listen to around them. There's a ton of enjoyable music out there.

I think this is a problem through other generations. Their parents probably could not understand The Beatles.

Use an I-pod.

You cant make them like it, just tell your parents that you like to listen to different music than they do and they shouldnt judge you by it, or just because the music says something, doesnt mean you are going to do what it says.

There may be a reason behind why they don't like it. Ask your folks why they disapprove of your music, it may be because some of the subject matter in the music isn't appropriate for younger teenagers,

You can not make anyone especially your parents do anything.

They are the adults respect their wishes while around them. When they are ot in the room then listen to what you want. And when you are an adult you can make those decisions.
But right now you have to respect your parents.

You're your own person, I know this is rebelus but who cares if they don't like the music you listen to! They're their own person too so you can't make them like it either. Also try to get your own radio and a secret place to stash cd's,duh!
