You should ask any veteran that lives around you or is in your family. The 4th of July celebrates our freedom from England. It was when the Father's of our country decided to break free. The 4th to many people symbolizes the life we live and how thankful we are for it and for those soldiers who made it possible! Take a look around we can say anything we want about our government, we can dream and have it come true, we can start out as poor and become rich ( of course for some it is the other way around) We have supermarkets that just blow people away that come from other countries. The best thing about US is that we have CHOICES that many other countries don't have. GOD BLESS THE USA! THANK A VET!

The 4th of July is the anniversary of the signing of the Decleration of Independence (declaring the USA a country SEPERATE from England). Had this not happened we would be a colony of England and subject to their rules. At the time that included what religion you could be and things like that.

It marks the beginning of what may very well have been the greatest, most daring experiment in the history of mankind. The concept that people could guide their own fate through elected officials was not only revolutionary, it was extremely radical for that day and time. All of the signers of the Declaration of Independence knew that they were signing their lives away should they fail.
Independence Day should remind every one of us that the jury is still out on this great experiment, and that it's up to each of us to make sure that the dream of a free and indpendent people does not die.
