What do you think of the refereeing in the 2006 FIFA World cup??

Appalling. That's really the only way to describe it. We have had too many red cards, and yellow card galore, not enough red or yellow cards, biased refs clearly supporting one of the teams, refs being pestered by players and then giving in to them! dodgy decisions, clear misses of vital details like handball, violence not being stopped by the ref, out of control players left to continue by refs and free kicks being handed out like they are going out of fashion. All of these have probably happened in one match cos the refs are that crap
All we need now is another 'Hand Of God', 4 yellow cards being handed out and 20 yellow cards and we can start a new Guinness book of world records!
They need to improve and fast, although half the ref population have already gone because they were so poor.

Why is it that when some other team says it you call us "sore losers", but when it happens to England suddenly you see how bad the refs are? Say whatever you like, but Elizondo was fairer to England than some of the other refs were to everyone else, and if you can't handle the fact that your team lost, that's *your* problem.

the refs are like the teams, not always on form, make mistakes but as the games have gone on the refs are getting better. not that I care as England are out for another 4 yrs.

some of them were alright, like the first round, BUT then the round of 16, quarterfinals, etc., they got all uptight and retarded. i dont think wayne rooney deserved a red card, he just needed a warning. he didnt step on that guy's groin on purpose...

Horrible. If this thing is not fixed, I don't know what is-it's worse than the Olympics, and that is definitely fixed.
