Turn off the radio, shut off MTv, and put down that Alternative Press magazine. After doing all of those things, you will find rock.

You are looking in the wrong places, that is why you can't find any good rock. The above sources do not display good, so stay away from them.

Pearl Jam
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Tool
Radiohead

Just to name a few more recent releases.

My question is "where has good rock gone?", emphasis on the word "good". Rock (and unfortunately rap) is everywhere. Except for "classic rock" stations, it seems good rock music seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth. What ever happened to the dinosaurs called "guitar solos"? Except for Carlos Santana solos they disappeared completely.

it's still there but because there hasn't been enough good lately, also the rising of rap and hiphop also country have better music lately,it does kinda suck though alot of newer considered rock is just not rockin,i suggest listing to more classic rock and alternative to discover the history and begining's of rock, man i truly love music especially rock so i hope this has helped,god-bless and don't stop rockin honey!

Rock has not only evolved in the last few years, but it has broken down into more specific groups. Like, what do you like? Screaming and hard drives? You like metal. More potent lyrics with a darker side? You like emo. More these days, you have to be really specific in describing your tastes, you can't just say, "I like rock," and expect someone to think of The Scorpions or ACDC. ^_^

it isnt in demand anymore because their arent enough free thinkers out there. just people that follow the crowd. and the fact that rock is mostly left wing and many people are scared to be associated with that kind of thinking during these times.

It's no longer popular with the people who decide what goes on the mainstream FM radio stations, but that doesn't mean there aren't a huge amount of people playing it (they're just not on FM) or listening to it (they're just not listening to FM).

Forget FM radio, it lost its spirit a long time ago. Listen to Internet radio instead. Try these links:

Rock is with the great classic bands like AC/DC, Queen, Def Leppard, Journey, Boston, and Cars and the generations that grew up with them... there are still people today who like them, like me, but most of them just keep it to themselves instead of trying to bring it back to the new generation

Rock just died when Susie went and left me for another guy. I spent long nights sitting by the record machine, dreaming of my Chevy and my old blue jeans. ;))
