Wait at least 10 days after you've had sex to either test at home or go to the doctor (or both). Pregnancy tests detect hCG (a hormone produced by the placenta) and hCG takes about 10 days after conception to be detected by any pregnancy test. Most home pregnancy tests are very accurate (about 97-99%) but the only way to know for sure is to go to a clinic or hospital where they will conduct either another urine test or a blood test and physical exam-you may have to wait a little longer for the blood test results (generally around thirty minutes to a few hours depending on how busy the lab is) but either way, you will have your answer. Best of luck!

The doctors usually use the same method as the home test, a urine analysis ELISA. It's exactly the same but costs more. They CAN do blood tests but that's pretty rare these days. The doctor's analysis is official, though, since the test is conducted in a clinical setting by clinically trained professionals.

HEy,
Defiently go to the doctors. Sometimes when you take the at home test it doesnt give accuarte results. Always play it safe. The doctors can take a blood test also instead of urine. Good luck and look to the sky!

Home tests are pretty accurate but you'll want to have it confirmed by the doctor afterwards.
