If you are looking to be a professional dancer and didn't start taking ballet at a very young age, you will probably have a hard time. Your body becomes less flexible as you age and people tend to become more stubborn. If you have an athletic background and are already flexible, you'd probably be fine. A friend of mine didn't start dancing until she was in college - she ended up losing a lot of weight and has danced professionally all over the world. She also spends about 12 hours a week just practicing.

When you're dead it's too late. So the moral of my story is that you should start now instead of living your life wondering if you should have done it. I took my first dance class, which was ballet, when I was 18 and I haven't stopped yet.
Yes, it may be too late to be a professional dancer, but I'm happy dancing whenever I can.
Good Luck!

It is never too late to start dancing. Ballet is a wonderful dance to learn. Even football players do it.

Its never to late to enjoy the pleasures of dancing. Although if you wish to dance on a more professional level, its best to start as early in life as possible. Do whats in your heart and listen to your body, you will find your answers.
