I'd like to create a completely custom invoice. Thanks for your help!

Assuming you are using "pressure sensitive" paper, then a "Daisy-Wheel" or dot-matrix" printer is the way to go. This is because those types of printers print with pressure. In order to get the duplicate or triplicate copies you will need to have "pressure" when printing.
In the above scenario, an inkjet printer would not be my choice.
IF - on the other hand, you just want to print exact duplicates of invoices, then the inkjet printer would be the choice.
IF you have HIGH VOLUME printing AND do NOT need the pressure quality, then a laser printer would stand the high volume.
I used a daisy wheel printer and created really neat invoices.

Why does your invoice need to be custom? It seems as if you could be spending a lot of time and expense to create a customized invoice, when there are plenty of templates already available.

Also, what is the purpose of a duplicate or triplicate invoice? Just print out multiple copies - it will save you more time and money in the long run.
