Well there is a lot of controversy surrounding the All-Star game, like World Series homefield advantage, certainly the fact the the All-Star game is more like a fan popularity game should be considered. A bunch of great players from lower profile teams are getting counted out. I don't really see it changing anytime soon. But until then, teams with the biggest fan base will get their players in the game. But, seriously, it's not like those chosen aren't amazing players already and undeserving. It'll still be a great match-up of players, with a variety of teams or not.

I think it's time to take the vote AWAY from the fans again. The Reds fans stuffed the ballot boxes in the 1957 and Ford Frick, the commish, took the vote away from fans from 1958-69.
I for one will not be watching, Yankes/Red Sox vs Mets/and Pujols is not a game I care to see, World Series home field advantage or not...
To remedy the situation, let THE PLAYERS pick the teams, you'll still get the superstars in the game, but you'll also get the unsung guys who DESERVE ( Joe Mauer being a prime example) to be there. Not so much a popularity contest.

as a red sox fan, i think that they should change the way the reserves are picked. Let the players on each team pick 1 position player and 1 pitcher and the represent the team. the other 8 starters should still be voted on by the fans. It is not boston or new yorks faults that they have more fans than the other teams.

oh i visit reproduction and paste without analyzing: in regards to the dome question is the position the Bible says God created the solar, moon, and stars. right here is what the Bible says: God made both large lighting fixtures fixtures, the better mild to regulate the day, and the lesser mild to regulate the nighttime; He made the celebrities also. God positioned them contained in the expanse of the heavens to grant mild on earth, (Genesis a million:16-17, NASB) God made 2 large lighting fixtures fixtures--the better mild to regulate the day and the lesser mild to regulate the nighttime. He also made the celebrities. God set them contained in the expanse of the sky to grant mild on earth, (Genesis a million:16-17, NIV) And God made 2 large lighting fixtures fixtures; the better mild to rule the day, and the lesser mild to rule the nighttime: he made the celebrities also. And God set them contained in the firmament of the heaven to grant mild upon the earth, (Genesis a million:16-17, KJV) One be conscious is "expanse" (or "firmament" contained in the KJV) that's the Hebrew be conscious "râqîya". the different 2 English words are "sky" and "heaven" (or "heavens"). contained in the Hebrew, those words are truly an same. there is not any certain be conscious that differentiates "sky" from "heaven," on condition that they are all an same Hebrew be conscious, "shâmayim." genuinely, it became the translators decision even if to apply the be conscious "sky" or "heaven." So, there is not any differentiation even if the celebrities were created contained in the sky or heaven. Secondly, God defines the râqîya as being equivalent to the shâmayim: God observed as the expanse [râqîya] heaven [shâmayim]. And there became evening and there became morning, a second day. (Genesis a million:8) So, opposite to the declare, the Bible does no longer say that the solar, moon and stars were created contained in the sky or ecosystem.

I think it's lame that Jason Varitek is gonna be the AL catcher.
I mean, how can't it be Joe Mauer and his lead leading .392 batting average. This kid's been so incredible it's ridiculous.
This is coming from a dodger's fan, by the way.

I hear you- but it's an exhibition game- if it bugs you then don't watch it. I watch it, but it really means nothing to me. In fact, I think it's stupid that the team that wins, gets home team advantage. There are alot of stupid things in baseball, I could go on and on...

That's why every year there are complaints that fans shouldn't be allowed to do the voting. It comes down to a popularity contest.
