Venice is famous for that! The ideal location for a gothic novel, especially in winter, when it's foggy. I personally think this only adds to its charms...

I love Italy but Venice just didn't do it for me. I must admit though, the tiny alleys and eerie quiet of the canals away from the tourist areas is a strange contrast.

I found it beautiful, not eerie or spooky. Venice is like walking out into a post card.

I'd say eerie because of the rats I saw swimming in the canals, but picturesque otherwise.

during the day and during carnivale it is very festive and fun... at night it is eerie a bit..

I'd say it's dirty, smelly and crowded.
