Snow seemed to skip us this year, but last year there was a TON of snow. Temps of 20 degrees or so are normal for a Portland winter. If you're moving here, be sure you're aware of the parking situation. A lot of parking intown Portland is on-street parking. You need to have a plan of where to park during plowing. That can be dicey. Feel free to contact me for any more specific questions. I've lived in Portland for almost 15 years.

I live in Southern Maine, about 40 minutes south of Portland. The past few winters have been cold, not too much snow. But when we get snow it seems to last forever!!!! If you like snow it's awesome, if not.....

Portland doesn't get snow. But, when it does get snow, it gets like three feet.

Portland is a "big city," the last of the BOSNYWASH megalopolis. Thus, one can expect foggy rain and wettish snow, when in season.

However, Portland is no stranger to extreme weather, including seasonal blizzards and summertime thunderstorms. Both of which occur sparingly.

In terms of your question, Portland winters seem to blow out to sea... snow squalls do erupt from time to time, but more often than not, the storm in question moves to the Northern Atlantic before even clearing its throat...

Yeah, they do. i could not take it myself and left after a million rotten wintry climate. maximum Mainers are prepared for wintry climate and locate activities outdoors so that they don't get Cabin Fever. wintry climate lasts 6+ months so that you want to get curious about some aspect/something! on the plus part, Portland is a really cool position - extremely underrated. consumer-friendly to have relaxing, meet human beings. Goofy relaxing: inspect men from Maine (sort of like undergo answer!).
