Well at 19 you are an adult. That is a decision you have to make for yourself.
If nothing else be there as a friend to her. She is going to need one now more than ever.

Just make the right decisions and do not follow her lead.
Good luck!

Ask yourself this question... Have you ALWAYS always done what your mother says??? At the age of 19, your mother should be allowing you to branch out and make some decisions on your own. If this person is your friend, then why is it such a hard decision to make unless in the back of your mind, you don't really want to be her friend anymore. Placing the blame on mom is a cowards way out, because she's not your mom's friend, she's yours. And real friends stick by each other - no matter what. At 16, being pregnant is real big, her life is about to change around and I'm sure she has enough problems coming from her own mom and the father of the baby as well... What she is going to need is someone to talk to, if nothing else... In this case, your mom is the bad influence because her advise to abandon a friend is ridiculous. Stay away??? Pregnancy is not a disease... it won't rub off on you. Search yourself and decide if you are an adult and a real friend or a child yourself without a conscious.

Your poor mom is scared that you are going to do the same thing. That is why she wants you to stay away. When you get older and have kids, you will understand this. I say be supportive of your friend. Tell you mom that she doesn't have anything to worry about but your friend really needs someone to talk to. Ask her to have compassion and to trust you. Then don't abuse that trust by going out and getting yourself pregnant before you are married.

Tell your mom that your an adult and that your old enough to make your own decisions. If your mom still says no than help her on the down-low. What your mom doesn't know can't hurt her. But do what you think is right.

Well, you should probably do what your mother wants, but why does she want you to stay away, from your friend. Do your friend's parents know about the pregnancy? Tell them, if not.
If you're supposed to stay away from your friend, which doesn't seem right, all you can do is pray, I think.

If she is only in first trimester, drive her to an abortion clinic.
If she wants to stay pregnant at 16, ditch her. You can get smarter friends than that.

Why do your mom care what you do? You are old enough to make your own decisions without her permission. Help your friend out and don't abandon her like her parents probably did and her deadbeat boyfriend.

She needs support. The last thing you should do is abandon her. Let her know your totally there for her in the ways that you can be. Don't judge her, its hard enough.
