Everybody who seeks a relationship is a user basically. Not that that they mean too. I mean the whole point to a relationship is to have a companion. Doesn't that mean they are using you so they won't be alone? But anyways, as to how you can tell, trust your gut. If something seems off like if you have a good deal of money and the person doesn't want to spend time with you unless your spending said money on them, well that makes it a little obvious. If they are truly genuine then they will enjoy anytime with you, the high points, the low points and anytime between. They try to make YOU happy, and not just themselves (although people can't help but enjoy the perks that you bring to the relationship).

I think there is an ebb and flow to it. At times, we are all USERS. You are probably, however, referring to the pathological USER type - the person who is a USER consistantly ALL THE TIME, throughout their whole miserable life. No, I don't think most people are like that. But I do think we all drift over into the selfish USER side once in awhile. Taking a daily inventory and maintaining some type of spiritual program can really help keep you out of that zone.

Some do it more, some less, but we all do that and there's not a whole lot you can do about it besides recognizing when you're doing it and correcting the action. Want to find out if someone is using you? You have to pay attention to their behavior. Are the two of you always doing the same thing? Are they the one always asking you to go somewhere, and then expecting you to take them and pay? When in a group, do they socialize with everyone but you?
Just use your common sense. And don't assume that because someone is using you that means they don't care for you either.

I don't know if I would say most but I know that alot of people are users. Thats terrible since I am rather nice and generous and lately I have been really watching people take advantage of me and seems like they want, want and want some more without giving back. It is hard to tell if they are like this at first but eventually their true colors come shining through just like that old saying.

It's a human trait to want things from eachother. Whether it is love, attention, or material things. I think only the most selfish people establish relationships for the sole reason of obtaining something from them. But everyone, no matter who, receive things from others whether or not they want it. I think everyone is susceptible to being used, sometimes without even realising that they are being used. I think the best way to avoid that is to be alert and attentive to your relationships.

I think there are some "users" yet there are some ppl who really like you and want to get to know you not just for
sex and how u tell is by the small things like if their eyes sparkle when they see u or if the voice brightens when they realize it you on the phone. U just got to keep looking.

It depends on your definition of USER is ??? I wouldn't think that most people are users, you just need to get to know the person to know if they are genuine or not and if you feel that you know someone and that they are using you, then you would have to let them know how you feel.

No, most people just put themselves first. Some ARE "users" but a mentaly healthy person can spot this type of individual and steer clear just by saying "NO."
No one can be a user unless people are willing to be used.

That is a good question and worthy of study. I feel most people interreact with each other because if you are by yourself and alone all the time you realize you in very boring company. I don't think people are designed to exist in a vacuum. BORING!!!!!!!
