There is a bus from OTOGAR bust station to Athens once a day at 11:00 (I think) It is operated by OSE (The Greek railway company... it is absurd I know but true). The carrier was VARAN a couple of months ago but I believe it has changed. Call OSE they'll tell you. Availability is scarce so make sure you book. It is the cheapest way but neither comfortable nor fast.

There is a possibility to take ferries. I'd fly, though, no matter the cost. It's only an hour and gives you more time to spend in both cities.

I understand it's amazing and beautiful to sail through the Dardenelles under a full moon. The straight is so narrow you can see people on both sides.
