how capable do you think humans are. it is said, that the mind is capable beond what we use of it, we just need to learn how to access the brains parts. But i think that things shouldn't be measured by potential, because everyone without a mental dissorder has potential, and some people with a mental dissability aren't that disabled in their mind. it is just will, a woman or man with a strong will can have everything they want, they are just held down by their personalities.

Well, at least in my opinion. :(

I think that we have to take into account that some people have physical problems that don't allow them to use their brains fully. My best friend's brother has down's syndrome. No matter how much will he had, he would still have downs, and would not be able to think the way people without this disorder think. It's caused by an extra chromosome, and therefore, is not dependent upon strong will. I think some people with brain disorders, can learn certain things, and progress in their thinking, if someone spends enough time with them, teaching them...I think it sort of goes back to the old nature v. nurture debate as well. To a certain extent, these people really are disabled, and their personalities cannot bring them out of it. Same thing with head injury victims. No amount of personality change could bring them back to their previous state. If you're talking about people who have depression, or bi-polar disorder...that's completely different. That is a mixture between a chemical imbalance, and partly a lack of will to live. It really does depend on the "disorder" you're referring to.

I'll answer your first question.
How capable are humans.
People are capable of a lot of things.
If you observe people, you'll see that nothing holds us back from doing anything.
Except us.
We're holding ourselves back. The world is on self-destruct mode.
Some are held back by their personalities, which isn't a bad thing.
The bad thing is when they refuse help.Because they can change.
We accept things as they are.We shouldn't.We're held back by so many rules unwritten.Who cares if this famous person said this or that?
We have to think for ourselves and see what we want to do.
We have to make some change.
It's not a blessing to be able to make a change. It's a duty.
And I'd rather to die trying.
We are blessed with so much potential and alot of ability.
But we're either not using it or we're just distracted.
Wwe're simply distracted 24/7.
I believe that the will is a very important thing.
Because if you want to do something, you won't just give it your best shot, you'll give it everything single shot on the planet.
You cannot fail.
We fail, which is natural. But we're overdoing it.We excuse ourselves too much.
I believe that my limits are rules written down in physics/maths books.
Those are the things you cannot change.
Hell, even those are changed every once in a while.
Most things aren't impossible. They just take alot of work.
Let's say you want to run for president. Is it impossible?
Technically? No.Why do we label it as such?
Cuz,it takes alot of work, effort, time, struggle etc..
When it comes to right and wrong, we know the difference.
Let's not pretend we don't.
But when it comes to right. There are several right-s.
There's the normal, expectable and easy one.
And the hard,it's-your-duty-one earth-one,right one.
So are we doing that,or taking the easy,out-the-back-door one?

People are capable to whatever they desire. It depends on how much they want it. Education plays a part in this also. But I have to disagree with 'everyone without a mental disorder has potential' I work with mhmr patients and they have plenty of potential. If one of them wants to go into the kitchen and steal food they do it. They can escape from the building if they think about it long enough and do all sorts of 'bad' things so I don't think mental illness matters. A person needs to have a desire and will to do whatever he/she wants. Personality in my opinion plays a small part in this. A person with a boring, goofy personality may be brilliant in computer software design, and a person who is fun-loving and talks often may be very unintelligent and not very creative. People are like packages. You never know whats inside until its opened.

Our subconscious mind holds so much more information
than we can possible understand. How to tap into it, that
is the questions. Meditation and listening to our inner voice
can help us to find ways to unlock the mysteries.
You are talking about mental disorder and potential -
have you ever tried to find an answer to the phenomena
of a SAVANT. A person considered not being normal,
mentally and/or physically disabled - that have one gift
so extraordinarily beyond anybodies capability.
Memory, math, music, art = painting, sculpture =.
But they can not read or write, some are blind and deaf.

I believe that humans can access other parts of their mind if they focus on using their other abilites that they might not know they had. For example, people who are "certified genuises" use a larger part of their brain. I think it comes down to capabilities, but I also believe the human mind is finite but has not reached it's point of finiteness yet. I think that we have yet to reach our full potential as the human race. I think genes have a lot to do with it as well, though.

I believe we can do anything if we persevere and put all that we have into it. Most people do not give things there best effort. They only use a portion of their brain power. I think it is based upon our detemination and mind set. There are people with mental disorders that have excellent brain power. But some how they are only challenged in certain area of their brain.

I personally feel that we can learn to use more of our brain to accomplish so much more regarding our capablilaty and mind. Imagine if could access more then the 20% or so of our brain cells. I know that it might sound weird but if we could, we would be building, cure and analizing our world around us more successfully. In regards to the handicaped there mentality is incapable of learning to controll none the less to access the brain in that form.

Have you ever looked around you and truly wondered /marveled at humans abilities achievements!... come on !...after all ...were only monkeys that think we know something that others species don't.. yet at any given cost (mostly the dumb and naive and the Innocent on the sacrificial alter of modern day domination ) we plunder rape and poison this planet (a mass speculation cos i don't actually know the end result or our role /purpose ,so i would hate to speculate) for want of evolution ... whats the driving force that leads us to change ..? is it for benefit .. and for whom?
do you think. every one wants peace and harmony .. yet .. is every body actually prepared for it .. !
If no one exercises violence ... it would become extinct .. if the factory workers refused to build bombs .. would bush Blair or any other dictator slap on overalls and begin assemblence /manufacture of them .. would we... as sane humane humans allow that sort of psychosis to exist ..!why do we .?
In terms of mental disorder... we are all slightly suffering from the multitude of diagnosis that separate and cast us in to stereo typical forms .... bottom line is ...we are all capable of achieving greatness .. .
I hope you can join in .!

Potential and ability are set out by societal standards. Our society values physical strength and book smarts. There are societies out there that value honesty or art or compassion.

Everyone has an ability to be GREAT, but they need to forget about societal constructs before reaching their potential. This is very hard to do because we all have to exist in a society in order to survive and have our potential realized by others.
