No, a date = you make plans with one person or several to go do something! You could have a date to look in shops, go to movies, out to eat, meet to drive to the same place. It's something you do with others. Now, dating implies you are seeing one person and you may or may not have a sexual relationship. it's is also called seeing someone. You could also say you are dating around and just be doing fun stuff with allot of people.

No, it just means getting to know a person. TV makes it look like people are always getting in bed on the first date. Some people do, but it depends on your values.

Serious relationships start with getting to know and care for the person before having sex. "Dating" is often a euphemism for sleeping around with whoever strikes a person's fancy at the time, and is usually very short-term.

No, it doesn't. although in most cases it probably does mean having sex eventually.
A lot of what happens now I guess is "hooking up" lots of sex and one night stands and not so much actual dating.

no...not in my definition. I date people and I've not had sex with any of them. I only have sex with someone I am exclusive with and just because you're dating someone and they buy you a meal does not entitle them to "get some."

Sad. But True. Naturally not everyone feels this way. But society has fashioned our minds to belive that the proper way to maintain a relationship, good or not, is that it eventually comes to sex

Not necesserarlly. It is entirely up to you and your partner. Some people move to sex very quickly, while others wait for marriage. You and your dating partner are free to decide what is right for you.

No, you do not have to have sex until you are ready....no one should force you into something that you are not ready to do. Sex is more than just an action; it is more of an emotional attachment.
Stay with your values and stick to your guns.....remember "NO means NO"

Dating in US can either be a scheduled dinner or meeting. In relationships, not really. Sometimes it happens that way, but not all the time...
