I too, loved the LOTR trilogy. I had read the books years ago and the movies really brought the whole thing to life for me. My only problem is where would I want to live? With the brave little Hobbits in Hobbiton..they have such a peace loving life and so much happiness there. Or in the land of Men, in Gondor where men are men!!! Minas Tirith where Aragorn rules....such a hunk, although Eomer comes close. Although I have done nothing to deserve to go to, I would love to go with the Elves too, they are such a noble race. The best I can hope for is a Middle Earth style wedding when my husband & I re-take our vows after 20 years of wedded bliss Bet you thought I was a youngster-I'm over 50!!
The ceremony will be at the Texas Renaissance festival this October-you're invited, come in costume (Middle Earth of course)

It's a great fantastic movie. I can relate to how you feel about how much one would want to live like in MiddleEarth. Unfurtunately that is so far from happening.
There are some towns in Sweden and Scandinavia and certain parts of Europe's alps that are like Middle Earth during summer. During winter are the harshest in weather. Like North Swedish counties can get down to sixty below zero in temperature.
The further you go away from modern civilization the more you will encounter perhaps closer to wha tyou would like to see.
However living like that has its much roughness about it.
Think about it. But if you can why not search those town in distant Europe and see wwhere it takes you. You never know , your desires right now may be yr very answers to soemthing you really will achieve. Follow yr instinct. Seek the town that suits your style. Why not.

i avoided lotr for the longest time because it was a period piece and the length of the movie. i finally checked it out of the library and i was hooked. i coveted the idea of the book in school because it was only chosen for the gifted kids to read and i probably know why now because they would actually get into reading it. i am ashamed to say that i started and stopped many books and the hobbit is at the top. hey dont go moving to middle earth, it seems that you will always end up in a bar fight or something.

There are two LARP groups that are based on the Lord of the Rings one is Belgarth and the other is Dagorhir. Depending on what area of the country you live in, there may be a group close to you. SCA is another group that is Medivel based. You could fit into either group. All three have websites that you can visit.

You need to read the books man. Silmarillion, The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, The Return of The King, and The Hobbit. They are even better than the movie. I've read and re-read them since I was 14.

that's a private determination. all of us has different likes and dislikes. you're questioning, how can somebody want Harry Potter over Lord Of The earrings, yet different human beings could desire to ask your self why you like Lord Of The earrings over Harry Potter. that's a controversy of opinion and flavor. yet all of us ought to relish staring on the movies they love and analyzing the books they love.
