I have not personally been on depo but I have had friends who have used this method and yes they did gain a decent amount of wieght. I take the pill and have had the same problem. After I had my son I lost the wieght and was back in my old clothes again. They were infact getting big on me because I was much more active and eating much healthier......I gained a bunch of wieght. I'm back to what I wieghed the very day my son was born. Look at your eating habits, how active you are and when and how you gained the wieght and if it seems to point to the shots then talk to your doc and see what other methods are a good option for you. Good luck and I hope this helped a bit

I was on it to help my endometriosis - gained 60 pounds in about a year, then went off and lost about 15. Had to go back on it, gained 20 more, then lost about 15 again when I went off. It could be the shot; my daily life changed from a on my feet one to working a desk job. I think my big weight gain was both the shot and environment, the 20 pound was definitely the shot since I was dieting and exercising, worried the same might happen.

I was on depo shots for endometriosis and gained a ton of weight both times. I'm still trying to get rid of the weight I gained six years ago. One of the nurses told me when I first got started that most people gain large amounts of weight, but it basically just fell off after you stopped. I didn't have that experience.

I have known a few people with different experiences. My best friend lost A LOT of weight on the shot, but one of my clients who was on it gained a lot of weight. I have heard horror stories about the weight gain on the depo shot though. Good luck, maybe try another method!

before i got pregnant i was 145.. through out the pregnancy i gained 50 lbs.. i was up to 198.. i got the shot before i left the hospital. after 6 weeks.. i lost 20 lbs.. ( down to 170 somethin) gradually it went right back up to 198. i stayed that weight for over a year. went off the shot twice with in the next year.. lost 10 lbs each time.. but as soon as i went back on it.. i went right back up. i think it depends on your body....

Yes, Depo caused me to gain a lot of weight. It also leeches calcium out of your bones.

I wasn't on it, but my best friend was. She's been off of it a little while now, and she's still trying to get rid of all the weight she gained.
