cooking a meal and dining with her might be awkward, especially if she has a family. so how about a bouquet of flowers, or a gift voucher.... nothing too big, but a gesture of appreciation.

A fridge magnet one with words on it , like thank you for being there ........ there are loads to choose from and there cheap. Ive got a couple from Friends an when i read them they make me fill good.
