Well, an answer for this question can be arrived by just sparing a thought to why birds call?

Birds mostly call to establish territories, to attract mates, to repel enemies and to alert others of some danger. Birds, unlike most mammals, have very good eyesight and sense of color and hence they are best equiped to do their activities during the day. Since the day is such an important part of a birds life, most of them decide to rest at night, since all animals do need to rest.

The exceptions are Owls, nighthawks, nightjars and several other species of birds which hunt in the night. However, most of these birds are generally quiet except for establishing territories - that's why we hear owls sometimes in the night.

Maybe it's because YOU'RE sleeping. Maybe you are. Out here in the deep woods, I hear birds and other creatures way into the night, and then I just hear my dogs from time to time, barking their brains out as they see or hear or otherwise sense another animal coming in their "territory", which they claim is WAAAAYYYYYYY beyond the fence line. I hope you get a good night's rest, or, maybe you can get some "outdoor dogs" who will tell you about EVERY critter possible that comes within their territory, and then you can find out for sure whether the birds around your place chirp at night or not. God Bless you.

Some birds are sleeping, but others are not. I hear birds at night this time of year singing. Other birds do their hunting at night, but are very quiet, so as to surprise their prey.

I am pretty sure that all birds have signed the Bird Free Noise Ordinance that is in place from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., except on the weekends when the ordinance is iin effect until 5 a.m.

If you are on a farm with Roosters? You will hear the Roosters! If you are in Latin America, you will hear the jungle birds at night. Not many birds are nocturnal (night hunters). I think ONE THAT IS, is the Owl! It's eye's help it see at night, the snakes, and rodents!

Yes, the sun rules the bird kingdom above all. When the sun first is apparent and you cannot see it, early in the morning, because you are not up in a tree, they do, and begin to stir. See how this crosses over with "rising with the rooster?" It is usually still night to us when they crow, but somehow they know the sun is beginning to "present the day."
