It hurts more when it goes over bone. If you want, take some pain medication before going in, and then make sure you go with someone so you can hold their hand while it's being done. Don't worry though, you'll be fine and it'll be over before you know it!

Yes they do hurt.BUT.....its all ab mind over matter. I have atleast 8 tats ( i dont count anymore) and each one is the same: pain...here are my recommedations: go whenever you have the most energy: i would go around lunch time, early pm...@ night (orwhenever you are tiredIS DEF NOT THE TIME)...you need to prepare your body for the pain. Its literally several needles goin in and out of your skin a million times a min...just go into it knowing its gonna hurt , but if you go to a good artist, the pain should be minimal. Sometimes it hurts more AFTER, LIKE A BAD SUNBURN..if you get a tat with lots a large outline, itll hurt more, or if you get a lot of color...the more time thats needed in a spot, the longer the needles will be in the same spot...PLEASE REMEMBER: THEY ARE forever, and make sure its something you can cover up if you dont wanna show it maybe work?? and that you really want the design, one that is original by you are have the artist tweak a pic for you...if you get something off flash cards, lots of people have them...take it from me, i gota lot of tattoos, and i used to be w a tattoo artist...and helped out at the shop..just also remember to expect it to hurt, and dont take a pain reliever like asprin or drink alchol as THIS WILL MAKE YOU BLEED MORE and youll tat will getmessed up ...GOOD LUCK!! :)

Ya it hurts a lot but you will get through it it's not like REALLY BAD and the ankle doesn't hurt as other places but on a rating from 1 to 10 I would say it's like a 6 and like 10 is like braking your arm so really it's not bad at all. Just take someone with you and you'll be fine.

Yes getting a tattoo will sting a bit, more on some areas of the body than others but it is not an unbearable pain. There is no reason to be scared or worried. Your tattooist can fill you in on the tender areas.

It depends. The first time you get one, you think it will be terrible, but then you realize it isn't so bad. Then the second time you go, you remember that the first one didn't hurt much, so it ends up hurting like hell.

Try poking yourself with a sharp needle real lightly and rapidly. Remember that tattoos are permanent.

DUH. I have never had one but the most pain that I have had is having a big toenail off without any pain medicine b/c it was ingrown. I have gone through that like 10 times in 5 years.
