I pulled up the old ( and disgusting) outdoor carpet from my cement porch. There is a lot of glue left on the surface. I would like it to be smooth so that I can paint it. Any suggestions as to how to get the glue off?

The same active ingredient in the expensive glue remover can be found in charcoal starter fluid. Try it on a small area. Vent area well, and put out the smokes.
