Camphor gum dissolved in ethyl alcohol will do the trick. My great grand mother used to take "that old white liquor (moonshine) and put camphor gum in it to create a rub for chest colds and bug bites!

This is the same stuff that is in Camphophniqe (sp?) in the little green bottles.

Old fashioned calamine lotion will help too.

There are several options for naturally soothing bug bites- Witch Hazel, Tea Tree Oil, Toothpaste (just a dab on the bite will help), used tea bags (just dampen a little with warm water and ring out), baking soda with a little water (to make a paste), tobacco (just moisten any type of tobacco-even from a cigarette or snuff), Vitamin E (oil or puncture a capsule with a needle and squeeze oil out). I hope this helps. There are quite a bit of natural remedies out there.

if you have nothing around you, make an x in the bump it splits the poison up and soothes the itch. But if not mix a little bit of baking soda in with water and make a paste to place over the bite!! I think that is as natural as it gets!!! :-0

several remedies...I think the best is a tea bag - it has tannic acid which helps with many things - bug bites, bee stings, cold sores, pimples, etc..... You get warm water and soak the tea bag for a minute or so, slightly wring it out - and apply to affected area....
