You pay more taxes than us, You have healthcare, Your Military is far less active than ours, Quebec speaks a whole lotta french, Toronto is a cool place to visit, and Canada's political "Headmaster" if you will pardon the term, is the Prime Minister.
Oh, your beer tends to be stronger, and your hockey players are usually pretty friggan good.
Your Dollar is worth usually around 85 american pennies, and when you guys buy a carton of cigarettes, it's usually more expensive, and it comes in a large box of 100, instead of a bunch of smaller packs like we buy.
Plus, when you buy stuff, you can use LOONS! How cool is that, eh?

Resisting the temptation to google it and get them all right,
You have a prime minister, not a president. I am ashamed to say I do not remember what his name is, but it did change recently.
You have provinces, not states.
You have, or had, troops in Afghanistan. We managed to kill some of them with "friendly" fire.
I frankly do not know how you gained independence from the British. Another one I ought to and don't.
Your court system does however still pit "the crown" against the defendant. You got me as to why.
You are metric. To the best of my knowledge, you do not have nuclear weapons.
They were working on making weed legal, I believe it failed.
They did make gay marriage legal, but forgot you also needed a divorce law to go with it. That was pretty funny.
I have visited. It is a pretty country. In the summer. I was up around Fort Frances, just above International Falls Minnesota. Geez, man, mosquito's flock like gnats here. And at noon.
As far as the government type, about the same as Great Britain, without the figurehead. You have a Parliament you vote for, they select the Prime Minister.

I wish I knew more, I love Canada, I had such a wonderful two week vacation there. I only wish I hadn't gotten so drunk most of it so I could remember more! =) Canada Rocks! oh the money is very colorful too, pink and purple. I love it! My favorite thing is that you have LAYS ketchup chips and dill pickle chips, you can't get those in the USA. I have to special order them online cuz I miss them so much, and everything is half in english and half in french. However you do have freedom from the UK now.

You have a Prime Minister. I think the canadian conservative party won the last election, I could be wrong. The drinking age is 19. You don't allow smoking indoors at any public place (including bars), but pot is legal. And your cities are actually nice places to live, unlike here where everyone lives as far from the city (Detroit) as possible, and just goes there for work.
I live in Michigan though, so I might not be average. I mean, the UP practically is Canada.

Canada has a Prime Minister, which is the same thing as a President. Canada's legislative, executive, and judicial branches are similar to the US in structure. I'm sure there are differences but I don't know what they are. Canada is ceremonially loyal to the Queen of England, who is on Canada's money, but otherwise Canada is an independent country with its own government. Canada has 13 provinces (similar to America's states), and I can name all of them. Canada uses the metric system. If you are driving in Canada and you see speed limit 90, that means 90 km/hr.

I don't know what Americans know about Canada...
All I know about them is that they are only interested by their own country !
I am French and, one day, a good friend of mine living in Vancouver, and French as well, told me that one of her American collegues asked her where she came from.
My friend answered him that she was from Paris..
The other said "Paris, Texas ?".
Of course, my friend said "No, Paris, France", and the guy told her "Oh, yes, and do you have TV and cars in your country ?"
My friend was really chocked to hear such ******** and said "Yes, of course, and we also have microwave oven too !".
So, I don't think that American people know that Canada has a Prime Minister and a Queen (Queen Elizabeth of England)...
