It doesn't seem as if FIFA is interested in improving the quality of referees. It wouldn't be too difficult to use a bit of technology.

There's also been too many bookings.

i think that the amount of yellow and red cards has been shocking, referees have ruined the world cup. players can hardly go in for a challenge without worrying they'll recieve a card.

It takes away the physical aspect of football. Imagine referee's like that in the premiership week in week out. It's not an excuse but do countries like England not suffer in major comps because they play a more physical game?

Some have been, and others were quite good.

At an international tournament like the World Cup one always gets a mixture of different people from different places and with different skills, talents and levels of qualification and expertise.
Different temperaments, cultures and historical experience also play a role, and of course nobody is perfect.

This is the result of football globalisation. Bringing referees from countries with no football history is a sad decission. We should have more referees from England, Italy, Spain and other European countries where football is very popular.

They're being made to do an impossible job to impose the level of discipline demanded by FIFA. The sooner they bring in video replays for the 4th official the better.

because of the new rules fifa put in. the refs are scared about their evaluations at the end of the world cup so theyre being super harsh.

they havnt,i mean they are only human! I think its the players who are bad do they hav no respect for themselves all the diving & play acting is just ludicrous. Yes there hav been a few dodgy descisions but i think that is always the case.

They have been controversial!

I think championship refs are generally more twitchy. The premiership is a "whole different ball game" XD

Too many new rules for them to ensure that the players abide by.

Some have been bad, but most havn't its just that your team lost so you blame it on the refs.
