Goldfish don't become pregnant, they lay eggs. But you can tell when the female is full of eggs by looking at her from above and she will be a little more round.
By the way not all fish lay eggs, have you ever heard of a live bearer? Live bearers give birth to live fish.

fish(any and all) lay eggs no matter what kind. you can never tell if a fish is pregnant they dont get pregnant.
