If it had been the other way Rooney or some English player would have done just the same. Any time England lose someone screams "Cheats".
The remaining 10 played superbly and rather than letting off steam on Ronaldo I suggest we focus on that achievement and hope someone finds a better formation for talented players next time.

If it had been the other way around, Rooney would have done more than just appeal to the ref (which is what any player would do when a dirty player had just stamped on their team mate). It would make a nice change for England fans to stop being so biased and think about how they'd react if things were reversed.
As for people on here encouraging people to physically attack (even kill) Ronaldo, that is just disgraceful.

i know i mean the wink the smirk and comments? And did you see the headbutt on Rooney earlier? He had this planned --> get Rooney out and weaken England\(which didnt work hahahA)(UNTIL PENALTIES :( ). Slimy slimy man. (Check out my questions for my earlier views lol =D)
He is probably the most hated man in football tonight lol =D a position which he well and truly deserves to get. And will probably be attacked by Rooney (go him)

I think Mr Shearer has it right when he believes that every right thinking Englishman fervently hopes Rooney twats him one in the first day of Man Utd training! The little wink was the most sickening display of gamesmanship of a hideously cheat scarred tournament. Let's hope that Zidane and les bleus leave the little toerag in tears (again) at the end of the semi finals... and as for those who say he's sexy, then I suppose if deceitful little scumbags turn you on....... but then don't come whining on Yahoo answers when the bloke you choose for yourself cheats on you....

didn't watch the match, to scared..but watched the video footing, Rooney was in the wrong yes...but the ref missed it, but Ronaldo had to go childishly telling tales, like one of the answers before, wouldn't like to be him when Man U start training again, Rooney will not let it go...We were not up to this world cup realy, just hope Steve M, can do it in time for Euro 2008

He willingly made a meal of Rooney's stamping (nasty as it was) -- the ref hadn't seen it. The Portuguese needed Rooney off to give them a chance. With Rooney, they would have been beaten so far out of the tournament that they wouldn't need plane tickets to go home.

He think he is a great player, that comes from a great country, Portugal, and that he will have an amazing future in the football world. After all this, I think he is right.

He is way over-rated! I don't like his style and his personality just stinks! He actually thinks he is a good player! Well he might become a decent player but i think he has to grow up yet!

how can you argue that stepping over someone is called playing football????!
all players would shout at the refree if he didn't count the foul for thier advantage.so if england lost it's bcoz of the penalties not bcoz Rooney got out.
