Legalizing all drugs will force society into an act of social darwinism, elimintating those that are "weaker," leaving a world with productive people able to continue the future of mankind, (with or without drugs).

why is this a bad thing? also think about the effect hundreds of years from now, clearly the "weaker" persons will be filtered out of society in due time.

I agree. It could bring about a drastic change. Prohibition has only served to build up a mafia and encourage organized crime where crime lords, politicians seem to benefit.

It also benefit drug companies that sell the similar stuff in the name of anti-depressants and the works. Also, using Amsterdam as an example people can at least be sure of not using adulterated or poisonous stuff.

Also better care can be offered to those who are not willing to come out addictions due to the social stigma attached.

Well, duh.

Also, most people who do lots of drugs started because of social pressures relating to drugs as a "cool" thing because they were "taboo". If these drugs were legalized, the taboo would be lifted, taking away much of the social interest in doing them.

Also, the prisons would be virtually emptied of people who are guilty of performing "victimless crimes", and drugs that were used would be taxable, saving the money spent in the prisons and engendering another form of income for the government.

So, where's the down side?

It will also make life hell on earth as the drug addicts become a majority and are running wild ..
We had a crack house across the street and people in the morning were stopping for their drugs to get them through work. A large dump truck stopped most mornings, (imagine meeting him on the road) At night the partiers were coming and going.. People that are waiting on you in stores and restaurants are high on drugs and fumbling around.. Its incredible..
How about this: you are going in for an operation and the doctor snorts some coke to get up for the operation.. good luck..
The Taxi driver snorts up before you get on the freeway..

That is an interesting theory. Most people that use or will use drugs, do so regardless of whether it is legal or not. I think legalizing most drugs such as marijuana, cocaine, ectasy, heroin etc... would have little impact on their utilization rate.

I also believe that some of the most successfull people on this planet use drugs such as those mentioned above.
