"All Along The Watchtower" by Jimi Hendrix is far superior to the original recording by Bob Dylan.

I agree Unchained Melody remake by U2 is good, so is their remakes of All Along the Watchtower, Night and Day, Satellite of Love, and Everlasting Love. Also INXS's remake of the song The Loved One, by another Australian band called the Loved Ones, is really good.

Bad remakes, whatever the name of that band is that did remakes of U2's Sunday Bloody Sunday and Beautiful Day. I don't know the name of the band but they murder those songs. And the remake of The Who's Behind Blue Eyes by LimpBizkit is horrible.

Marilyn Manson "Personal Jesus" by Depeche Mode (very good).

Deftones "No Ordinary Love" by Sade (also very good)

Dolly Parton "Imagine" by John Lennon (ok, but not great)

Dixie Chicks "Landslide" by Fleetwood Mac (ok, but not great)

Tori Amos "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana (really sucks the energy out of the song better than Kurt could have done on his anti-depressants... but at least you could hear the lyrics in her remake)

Tori Amos "Enjoy The Silence" by Depeche Mode (this remake is very interesting. I refuse to put a good or bad label on it... it's just different)
