I'm told I shouldn't use car or LT tires on my utility trailer. I can't seem to find trailer tires that fit on 15 X 8 rims. The widest spec I find is for a 7 inch wide rim. Will I really have problems if I use LT tires? I'd love to use 31 X10.50 - 15s to match my tow vehicle.
Any help?

The reason you shouldn't use car/truck tires on a trailer is...

A trailer is subjected to forces greater than a car/truck. The trailer sways and bounces, thus the sidewalls are stronger.
You need to go to a good tire shop and ask for a tire that will provide the correct support your trailer needs and fit the rim safely.

You may need to suck it up and ditch the "matching" rims in favor of 15 x 7's.

I have run car/Lt tires for years , the trailer tires are designed for low rolling resistance but also low traction. I personally haven't run anything larger than 30/9.50/15 , I do know of a few who have run 31/10.50/15 and do OK I would recommend running easy until you know how they handle with your rig.
