i too thought it was the producer, but noel edmonds said in a recent tv interview that the banker was infact a real banker, and that the offers he make are worked out by him (the banker) and his team, and that the offer would be no more than it needed to be,
when asked what he sounds like noel edmonds replied that he had a posh voice. Also when asked what did the banker speak about on the phone when they were obviously having a conversation noel edmonds said that the banker would sometimes comment on the lady contestant if he found her attractive. hope this helps
